POLICE are reporting that last night's shooting incident was not politically motivated.
Gunmen approached a section of the crowd during a Jamaica Labour Party political rally in Savanna la Mar, Westmoreland and killed 20-year-old Danny Campbell and injured three others during a Jamaica Labour Party political rally.

Investigators said a preliminary probe has revealed that the shooting was linked an ongoing gang feud in the town.
Director of Communications of the Constabulary, Karl Angell, made the announcement during a press conference at the Commissioner's Office in Kingston this afternoon.
Angell said members of the notorious Bobo Gang had targetted the leader of the Top Roses gang.

Police: Politics not involved in Savanna-la-Mar shooting

Politics was not a motive in a shooting at a Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) meeting last night according to preliminary police investigations.

According to the police, the shooting is as a result of a gang feud between members of the Top Roses Gang and the Bobo Gang.

At a press conference today, head of communications at the Jamaica Constabulary Force Karl Angell said that members of the Bobo Gang tried to assassinate the head of the Top Roses Gang.

This incident is believed to be linked to the recent conviction of the leader of the Bobo Gang, Andre Brown.

In the meantime the police have identified the man who was killed when gunmen opened fire at a JLP meeting in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland last night.

He is 20-year-old Daniel Campbell, otherwise called Scotchie of a Dalling Street address in the parish.

Three other persons were also injured during the shooting.

The police say explosions were heard shortly before 10 o’ clock while the meeting was in progress.

They say when the shooting subsided, four persons were found with gunshot wounds and were taken to hospital where Campbell was pronounced dead.

The other injured persons were admitted in serious condition.

JLP candidate for Westmoreland Central Marlene Malahoo-Forte, has described the incident as political.

Now this story makes sense...nowhere in the story does it mention the gangs being aligned to the JLP...if it was mentioned then the shooting would obviously be politically motivated...thank me later

Men don't respect politics anymore. In the good old day the boys would not dare to shoot at their own meeting with permission of the stage boss. Jungle justice would be swift and guaranteed.
The same type of thinking that created a problem cannot be used to solve the problem.

What? Where in the article does it say that the gang was aligned to the JLP? You are cutting and pasting Sickko's assertion into the factual report...

You really are a moron. The dead man's friend who was there and his mother told the media that, do you think the police will say everything?
