In a major blunder Friday night Councillor John Myers of the Lawrence Tavern Division introduced Delano Seiveright, the president of Generation 2000 (G2K), the young professional arm of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) as Delano Franklyn.
Frankyn is a former state minister in the People's National Party and is a current campaign spokesman for the party.
Myers was chairing a JLP mass meeting in Naggo Head, St Catherine until regular chairman Desmond McKenzie took over, when he made the error.
The mistake was not immediately detected by the crowd, but Seiveright caught it.
The G2K president did not speak after the introduction.
The Naggo Head meeting was being held as part of the final lap of a three-day islandwide JLP tour which began on Wednesday in Kingston.
