DUDUS DIDN'T WRITE LETTER - Sister unaware of Coke's message not to vote for JLP

    Dudus
The sister of Tivoli Gardens strongman, Christopher 'Dudus' Coke, says she is unaware of a text message being circulated that claims her brother wrote a letter imploring West Kingston residents not to vote for Desmond McKenzie in the upcoming general elections.
According to Sandy Brown, she is totally clueless to a second letter from her incarcerated brother and she has not seen the text message either.
THE STAR, however, saw the text message that was being circulated earlier this week.
The message stated that a letter came from Coke telling West Kingston residents to vote out the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and to ignore McKenzie. The message didn't give a reason why this should be done.
Several persons with whom THE STAR spoke, however, questioned the authenticity of the letter as it is being circulated in a period leading up to the general elections in which McKenzie will be running as member of parliament for West Kingston.
McKenzie is the Jamaica Labour Party's representative for West Kingston in the December 29 election. He is the new representative for that constituency since former Prime Minister Bruce Golding resigned after the pressure that followed the extradition matter involving Coke.
In September ,Coke, who has been described by United States prosecutors as one of Jamaica's most brutal drug lords, wrote a seven-page letter to a judge asking for leniency.
Coke who is awaiting sentence in the US, could receive a 23-year sentence.
He has pleaded guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy and one count of conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering. Meanwhile, efforts to get a comment from Mayor McKenzie were futile as calls to his mobile phones went unanswered.
