The lawyers for the man at the centre a confrontation with the National Security Minister are to go court tomorrow to make an application for bail.
Rohan Rowtham was charged last week in relation to a separate incident.
Rowtham is to appear in the Gun Court on the charges of shooting with intent and illegal possession of firearm.
He is being represented by the law firm Knight, Junor and Samuels.
The police say the charges against Rowtham stemmed from a shooting incident which took place in the Woodford Park community in Kingston in June.
Rowtham was charged a day after he made report to the police about a confrontation with the National Security Minister Senator Dwight Nelson.
He is claiming that Senator Nelson pointed his firearm at him.
The incident reportedly happened during an exchange between supporters of the People’s National Party and Nelson, who is the Jamaica Labour Party’s candidate for South East St Andrew.
Rowtham’s attorney has raised suspicion about the timing of charges however the police say he was arrested and charged because they had an outstanding warrant for him.
