..why we have a spell-check with American spelling?

  • #2
Cause the server is hosted in America, and 99% of us live in that country.

Of course that is not true and you can set any English language standard...US, UK etc.

Just a simple question. Whats wrong with American English?. Isn't it more correct than the so-called British standard, or Queens/Kings bastardized(with French) English?.

What makes one dialect more correct than another? Based on what universal standard?

Not a simple question at all. Firstly, I never said anything was wrong with American English. Next, it cannot be "more correct". What is the "so-called British Standard'?
I just asked why we were using the American version of the spell-check. One poster suggested that 99% of the users lived there - ok. He also suggested that the server was there which is irrelevant. This would mean you couldn't have a foreign language on a server (say Spanish) in the US?
Point is if this is a ReggaeBoyz forum from a country that uses UK Standard English its norm (debatable)or Jamaican standard English (yes, it exists)- why in football's name are we using the US standard???? Just saying.
