  • I was in Jamaica for nomination Day

first time since 1976 nomination day. It was a most interesting day. But I was very disappointed. My own labourites tied up Sodom (MoBay) with an elaborate funeral procession with Portia's orange coffin on top of a vehicle. Tons of people henging out of vehicles even after the whole nation was told not to do that. I was turned off. But the comrades were doing similar things in other places. I remarked to Karl, this evening, that I now know why they hold each other's lives with so little importance.

The thing you missed was that there were no animosity and anger to each other and most of the celebrations were in good spirits.

I wondered how so many people managed to get time off from work/school for a process that needed few people...but hey...
Solidarity is not a matter of well wishing, but is sharing the very same fate whether in victory or in death.
