The Electoral Office of Jamaica’s Returning Officer for East Rural St Andrew Derrick Malcolm says two persons with the name 'Damion Crawford' have been nominated today in that constituency.
The PNP’s Crawford was the first to be nominated while a second candidate with the same name was nominated about 12:30 p.m as an independent candidate.
They will challenge the JLP's Joan Gordon Webley.
Malcolm told The Gleaner that both candidates would have different symbols on election day, December 29, so that their supporters would be able to make a distinction.
“The symbols will make a difference on the day that the voters will make a decision,” Malcom explained.
“I don’t see a problem at present, we did our constitutional duties and we nominated the candidates who came prepared.”
