X, I just read your latest enthusiastic posts on ska.

Ska, a rich and unquestionably creative genre, is a reflection of Jamaica’s promising and glorious past. Therefore, that’s where it (ska) belongs!

Today, as Jamaica moves gradually but with an obvious sense of purpose towards that no-man’s land known as a Failed State, the genre known as dancehall is a much more relevant reflection of where we are. So, let ska remain in our rich past and let dancehall continue to rule our decadent, failure-laden present.

Considered and rejected because hope must be kept alive , one day it will come home from its exile and stop hiding at home in its persecuted state.

One day it will be given its due from the ungrateful ethiopians.Its works will be paraded on streets of gold , blasted off roofs like a rocket ship , stripped like a naked city , teaching the masses confuscious as they dance the nimble foot ska.

Historian with much regret I have to side with Xuberance here too. we cant throw out the good and drop our hands and say we give up and allow the mediocre to take precedence.
It is up to the powers that be to ensure our children know there was once good, no, great music and great people who used to take weeks and months to write and score a good piece of music that stirred your soul and not rile you up to go kick off your neighbour's door because him diss you.
