    JUNIOR Christie, the homeless man sentenced to three months' imprisonment for stealing ackees from the King's House property, once asked authorities at the Richmond Farm Prison in St Mary to let him stay there and even offered to help pay the light bill.

    "He was convicted in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court after being caught by a King's House attendant with 45 pods of ackees from the governor general's farm which he reportedly sold for $350."


    ...so how dem catch him wid de ackee? or is de attendant sell dem?

              OK then, now that we have more facts, I am willing to alter my stance on the conviction however it seems this man need more intervention than being thrown into prison where he certainly will not get any help.

                Richmond prison is not a hardcore prison..........they get free time to go work under supervision etc...

                    I agree. The case is more complicated. The fellow is begging for somewhere to live and he is also a repeat offender. Prisoners at Richmond Farm roam free. They can even leave compound for a quick trip to the community shop. Some have women in the community. Its basically free housing for free labour.
                    The same type of thinking that created a problem cannot be used to solve the problem.
