• JLP reviews prospective candidates

The Jamaica labour Party is currently reviewing two of its prospective candidates with a view to changing them ahead of nomination day.

They are Corris Samuels in North east St. Elizabeth and Don Foote in Eastern Westmoreland.

The St. Elizabeth seat will be contested by the PNP’s Raymond Pryce while the Westmoreland seat will be contested by incumbent Luther Buchanan.

Two possible replacements have been identified by the JLP for the Eastern Westmoreland seat.

They are Stafford Earl and Nigel Myrie.

JLP deputy leader in charge of that area council, Dr. Christopher Tufton says the changes will be made in consultation with party workers on the ground and the secretariat.

Meanwhile the PNP will also be making changes to its slate of prospective candidates.

Reports are that Paul Burke will not be running on the PNP ticket and will be replace by Leanne Phillips in North central St. Andrew.

..... and still James Robertson is on the ticket? Oh well ... it appears a PNP victory in that constituency should get rid of him.

And you wonder? Winning an election at any cost trumps everything else son.

Yesterday, at lunch I spoke to a labourite friend who way higher in the party than you will ever be and asked him about Mike Henry and while he agreed that in a perfect world Money Mike would be booted from the slate, we all have to remember that the JLP needs to win all the seats they can get and that one is as safe as West Kingston.

Simple.
Solidarity is not a matter of well wishing, but is sharing the very same fate whether in victory or in death.
