Addressing the bank's quarterly briefing Wednesday morning, <SPAN class=kLink style="FONT-WEIGHT: 400; FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: blue! important; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana,Arial; POSITION: relative">Governor</SPAN> Latibeaudiere noted that inflation for the December quarter was .3 per cent.
This was well below the 2.9 per cent average for December quarters over the past five years.
Governor Latibeaudiere announced that the inflation for 2006 was 5.8 per cent which was the <SPAN class=kLink style="FONT-WEIGHT: 400; FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: blue! important; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana,Arial; POSITION: relative">lowest </SPAN><SPAN class=kLink style="FONT-WEIGHT: 400; FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: blue! important; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana,Arial; POSITION: relative">rate</SPAN> of inflation for a calender year since 1981.
