I see it as y'all majoring in minor. They decide to home school their children ... thats their call. I'm more concerned about how the education system is functioning."Jamaica's future reflects its past, having attained only one per cent annual growth over 30 years whilst neighbours have grown at five per cent." Not sure why that is an issue if they feel they can do a better job at home than the schools and that their child doesn't have to deal with the issues of being the prime ministers child.
If sent his children to American International School, which doesn't follow the local syllabus, no one would even mention it.

How could this boil down to personal choice? Isn't he the # 1 Public figure (apart from Mavado and Kartel).
Some explanation needed here. Don't expect it from this forum.

And that wouldn't be a problem for you? You realise that these private institutions do not answer to the Government right? They prepare kids for higher education in Canada, USA and England...so why would that not be an indictment on the public school system?

Security can be an issue too. If he feels that his kids are not secure enough it maybe easier to have them home that to have body guards follow them to school everyday.
This is certainly not a big deal as any Prime minister with young kids will choose carefully what to do with their kids. PJ, Portia and Bruce never had that problem.- Don't let negative things break you, instead let it be your strength, your reason for growth. Life is for living and I won't spend my life feeling cheated and downtrodden.

Bad move as well...I have no problem saying it. Manley is not the issue here. It's always for you - Portia or PJ or Manley when your leaders mess up. Have you EVER tried just dealing with an issue as it is. Just try to separate yourself from the politics and "us vs. dem".
Let me just clarify for you - if the PM chooses to send his kids to England that's his business. What I'm saying as a public figure, Min of Education - it does send a clear message when you show no confidence in the very system you are responsible for fixing. Does he know something we don't?
As for home schooling - I have a friend who has chosen to do that with her son - and did a good job at it BUT there were issues in getting interaction with other kids etc. and they lived in country with connectivity with other home schoolers etc. Personally, I wouldn't do it but that too is not the issue.
The issue is the the Minister of Education - first and foremost and then the PM - the leader of gov.

don't you think the prime minister kids can be special targets?- Don't let negative things break you, instead let it be your strength, your reason for growth. Life is for living and I won't spend my life feeling cheated and downtrodden.

Andrew Holness has made a choice to home school his children...if you see that as "messing up" that is your cross to bear...I don't care what a friend of yours who home schooled his children experienced...that has no bearing on Andrew Holness and his decision...when has Andrew Holness said that the public school system is one he has faith in?
