  • PNP Says Leader Ready For Debate

LATE YESTERDAY, the Opposition People's National Party (PNP) issued a release stating that it was committed to debating with its political competitors the issues that are critical to the people of Jamaica in the next elections, whether local government or national parliamentary elections.

"The leader of the PNP is ready to engage in such a debate. The entire leadership team of the PNP is ready to engage in such a debate," the PNP said in a statement to the media.

According to the PNP, it has been fully involved in discussions to reach an agreement on the number and format of such a debate or debates.

The party said it had already confirmed with the Jamaica Debates Commission its intention to participate in the debate.
