  • Kartel Implicated In More Murders

    Palmer
    Glenroy Sinclair, Assignment Coordinator

As top sleuths of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) continue to unearth more evidence implicating entertainers involved in criminal activities, Assistant Commissioner Ealan Powell has disclosed that controversial dancehall star Adidja Palmer, better known as Vybz Kartel, could soon be slapped with at least five more murder charges.

According to Powell, the artiste, who is already before the courts on two charges, has been implicated in several other murders, which the police said took place in the Corporate Area and St Catherine.

"He will be charged very soon," declared Powell, who is the head of the CIB.

The senior officer stressed that his team of detectives was in hot pursuit of other members of the entertainment industry who have appeared on their radar.

Kartel, who climbed to the top of the dancehall ladder with a string of hits in 2003, has been behind bars since last month. On October 3, he was charged with murder and illegal possession of firearm. This is in relation to the murder of businessman Barrington 'Bossie' Burton.

A few weeks later, he was slapped with another murder charge, this time in relation to the death of Clive 'Lizard' Williams. Williams was killed on August 16 in Havendale, St Andrew.

But while detectives are continuing their probe of Kartel and members and of his Portmore Empire Crew, the Anti-Corruption Branch of the Jamaica Constabulary Force has now turned the searchlight on six policemen who have been implicated in a major security breach at the Gun Court Remand facility where the entertainer is being held.

The six officers have been transferred with immediate effect.

    Wow.

And I thought they were a wannabe Death Row label. They were more like a wannabe Medellin Cartel (pun intended)

I will say this though....if he is indeed guilty of these crimes and they manage to put him away for life, what a great message that would send to the public.

You will recall that a few weeks ago I reported that the four tear drops tattoo on Kartel represents the number of persons he had murdered, well he has now been charged for three with one left to go.
Stay tuned, his career is over !
