  • PNP Trafigura request refused

JUSTICE Lennox Campbell this morning refused an application by attorneys representing the People's National Party (PNP), that the interrogation of party leader Portia Simpson Miller and other party officials be done in a private setting.
Justice Campbell also refused an application that the matter be stayed pending a constitutional motion.
Dutch officials want to question Simpson Miller, party chairman Robert Pickersgill, former ministers of energy and information Phillip Paulwall and Colin Campbell, as well as businessman Norton Hinds, in relation to a $31-million donation from Dutch firm Trafigura Beheer, which had an oil lifting agreement with Jamaica in 2006.
See tomorrow's Daily Observer for a detailed report.

i was wondering if he would have the courage to do so ... the matter has been pending for so long and to now at this juncture make this application makes it so evident that it is dilatory.

      what now?
