Marco McDonald, the former national football player who has been charged with carnal abuse, appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court last week.
When the matter was mentioned, the investigating officer told the court that a new charge is also to be laid against him.
As such he will return to court on Monday.
It was reported that on October 29, investigators from the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse charged the 34-year-old with carnal abuse.
It was also reported that McDonald was charged after it was alleged that he had sexual relations with a 13-year-old girl.
The allegations are that the child was molested in 2009 while she visited him at his home.
McDonald, who has represented Waterhouse FC and Tivoli Gardens in the National Premier League, made his debut for the Reggae Boyz in 1998 when they challenged Macedonia.
In 2003, he played his last game as a national player when the team went up against Mexico.
He is being represented by attorney-at-law Christopher Townsend.
