As Jamaicans eagerly await word on when they will go to the polls, Prime Minister Andrew Holness has given the assurance that persons who were recently enumerated will get an opportunity to vote in the General Election.
Mr. Holness says the election will not be held ahead of the publication of the new Voters' List on November 30.
He says this will ensure that the more than 40,000 persons, who were enumerated before the September 30 deadline, can vote.
The Prime Minister made the disclosure while addressing Jamaica Labour Party supporters in Black River, St. Elizabeth on Thursday night.
“So Labourites, those 40,000 people will get their chance to exercise their mandate, to show that they want a future for themselves and their country. That means I have to wait until the new list is published. I am not in any rush,” Mr. Holness said.
