CONFLICTING reports are coming from the government on the whereabouts of National Security Minister Dwight Nelson. Information Minister Arthur Williams told reporters at today's Post Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House in Kingston that Nelson had gone to Washington, USA to meet with representatives of the State Department.
"It was arranged at short notice. He is the Minister of National Security and from time to time there are security matters that have to be dealt with, with some dispatch. this is one such and when he returns he will be in a position to advise the nation," Williams said.
But sources at the Ministry of National Security later denied Williams claim and said he was in the Bahamas to make a presentation on law enforcement at the second Annual Caribbean-United States Security Cooperation Dialogue.
"As far as we here at the ministry know, Minister Nelson is in Bahamas. He is not in Washington," the source said.
