    With what they thought was more than sufficient reason, they hounded him, berated him, criminalised him on their verandahs and made him into a political laughing stock.
    More than a year later as Prime Minister Bruce Golding yielded to the cries and the pressure from civil society, the Opposition PNP and from inside his own JLP and walked away from it all, there were still some who were not satisfied. They wanted, if not a pound of flesh, at least a pretence that someone had left a bloodstain on the cold, hard, concrete flooring.

    Interesting quotes ...

    Much as PNP fanatics may hate to admit, the economic fundamentals are in place. Nothing else makes sense if those are out of whack. Certainly we know that even though the PNP left Michael Manley's democratic socialism in the past of the turbulent 1970s, it has still never divested itself of the temptation to redistribute wealth instead of creating it.

    On the other hand, the PNP was never too much taken up with establishing a sound economy. There was always too much time involved in that, and more important to that party, an election every five years became the main focus. In time the PNP understood "the runnings".
