A barber accused of shaving the word “fool” in the head of a Jamaican man with learning difficulties has been charged with assault.
According to the Stamford Mercury in Britian, the barber, Michael Campbell, 35, from Hartcliffe, Bristol has denied a charge of assault and one charge of failure to answer bail.
Allegations are that the barber shaved the word "fool" on to the back of the head of the customer, who has “severe learning difficulties”.
The complainant, Michael Ricketts, 49, had gone to the barbershop on February 11, asking for a pattern to be put on his head.
The accused allegedly shaved the word "fool" with a smiley face underneath, the report said.
He has said that he shaved the word "cool", but it was misinterpreted.
The court has no photos, and is relying on the memory of witnesses.
