The National Workers Union (NWU) is cautioning the Jamaican Government against making any fiscal projection on the basis of another public sector wage freeze.
Dr Jean Leon, the local official of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has indicated that this is among the considerations of the Government.
According to the NWU president Vincent Morrison, it appears that the Government has gone ahead and made commitments without public sector consultations.
Morrison says public sector unions are willing to consider alternatives to a wage freeze.
But he says they cannot endorse a wage freeze in the climate where price increases continue.
