When you get back home watch the movie "The Road To Wellville" starring Anthony Hopkins.
One of the sub-plots of the movie, set around 1900, takes a look at the questionable, if not dangerous, medical practices of that era. "An erection is a nail in your coffin."
Hopkins plays Dr. John Kellogg, he of breakfast cereal fame, who also operated a sanitarium. In the movie, Kellogg was obsessed with enemas and clean bowels.
Brigitte Fonda and Matthew Broderick also star as a married couple visiting the sanitarium.
Broderick had health issues related to a drinking problem, so Fonda slipped a patent medicine which supposedly cured alcoholism into his coffee. The medicine was opium. As a result,
Broderick became an opium addict, and had trouble holding down food.
As one movie reviewer said, "this film is ga-ga over ka-ka."

Going for a colonoscopy tomorrow. If the Doc is female and she plays soft music and dims the lights it might not be so bad. If its a male with same setting... well .....
