La Lewis laments from a jail cell.

The self-proclaimed “Seven Star General” said his refusal to plead guilty has landed him behind bars in the Half Way-Tree lockup.

All this stems from La Lewis’ refusal to pay the National Solid Waste Management Authority seventy-thousand dollars ($70,000.00) for seven (7) breaches of the National Solid Waste Act for illegally marking or defacing public spaces across the corporate area.

La Lewis’ failure to make a court appearance on Monday resulted in a warrant being issued for his arrest. La Lewis was locked up this morning and is set to attend court on Thursday (22/09/11).

ENTERTAINMENT personality LA Lewis was today remanded in custody when he appeared in the Corporate Area Magistrate's Court today.?
LA Lewis, whose real name is Horace Lewis, did not appear in court yesterday to answer to a charge of breaches of the Litter Act and a warrant was put out for his arrest, by Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey.
When Lewis appeared in court decked out in full white today he was ordered locked behind bars until the matter is mentioned tomorrow by Pusey.
Lewis was fined $70,000 by the National Solid Waste Management Agency (NSWMA) for defacing public property with graffiti but has refused to pay, claiming he did not personally deface any property. His refusal to pay the fine landed the matter in court.

So, why aren't politicians, particularly the leaders of both parties not charged for the defacing public property when all over the country there are "VOTE PNP", "JLP AREA", "VOTE HOLNESS" etc. graffiti?!?!

If there is proof positive that depicts him actually defacing the property then he should be charged as such. if however no such proof exists, then it is a matter of hearsay and innuendo, that is not proof in a court of law. He would have grounds to sue the accusers for defamation, and causing undue harm to his character
