on Molloy and education http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/busin...nation_9718109 . My argument is that most if not all in Ja is looking under the lamp light. How can you write off a twelve year old child? How can you determine that a child of twelve will not be a success in life (unless you put a system in place to do so)? What are you using to determine this? A memory test. Yes memory; ask anyone that deals with higher math (and I'm not talking calculus) iff these exams aren't based on memory of an operation.

None of these kids are failing these memory drills. Other factors may come into play (lack of food, not a good study environment and many other socio economic factors). In short the truth is that GSAT should be scrapped it only fosters the old colonial addage of class (which leads to town/country,east/west back/front, black/brown et al).

The real deal is that Ja lacks quality teachers at the high school level for math and science (which will be very critical in the coming decades)

I'm busy but will say more on the importance of math. in the info age
