<JOURNALIST Lloyd B Smith, seeking to write another chapter in his political life, will say by Sunday if he will contest the Central St James seat on the People’s National Party (PNP) ticket in general elections due next year.
Smith, the publisher and editor of the Montego Bay-based Western Mirror newspaper confirmed yesterday he had been asked by the party to take on the Jamaica Labour Party’s (JLP) Heroy Clarke, the veteran councillor for the Rose Heights Division of the St James Parish Council.......

But in Montego Bay where Smith has been tagged “the Governor”, sources said they believed he was almost certain to accept the PNP’s invitation, noting that he had been consistently critical of the sitting JLP St James representatives Edmund Bartlett and Dr Horace Chang.
“Nothing has been finalised as yet, but I have given myself until July 31 to come to a clear-cut decision,” Smith said.>
