    Anybody here ever use EBay

    to buy electronics etc?

    I am in the market for a professional SLR camera...you know the type that you see the real professionals use.

    I am particular towards the NIKON D200 which is a super camera.

    I see some stores on EBay selling an entire kit for an average US$1800 but on Amazon I see them selling the body alone for nearly that..I know the real Nikkor lense can be a very expensive proposition.

    I have heard some reservations about buying on EBay but I know peope, who have been buying and seling on Ebay both in the US and GB for years with no complainst at all.

    I use Ebay all the time to purchase electronics. I have bought a laptop, DVD recorders, hub caps and other small stuff. I usually check the user feedback of the seller before putting a bid on any item to ensure they have good customer service, just in case I have to return an item.

      OK then...some one was telling me to be careful as they some times sell refurbished stuff and some times components that should be in the package does not turn up

        I would pay special attention to the company or individual selling the product. Check to see if they have a street mailing address, and not a P.O. Box. I have had good experiences, and I have no complaints.



        However, since you are going to spend about $1800, to be honest I would only make that purchase from an established retailer.

          The last time I bought a camera it was thru ebay. Worked out perfectly, but instead of having them ship it, I went directly to the store since I was coincidentaly passing thru Philly at the time.

            Thanks Mosiah and Hortikal...actually the site shows an actual street address and phone/fax number but it is in New York, I could have them mail it to Philly for me at a cost of abour $25 instead of them sending it all the way here where it might cost ten times that...plus custom fees...
