sell out this thing. I guess them tired and want to go home.

If this reaches Obamas desk he is going to be under pressure to sign it and the Dems would have lost the fight.

    From politico.com

"WASHINGTON -- After another round of failed negotiations with Republicans over the weekend, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Sunday night laid out Democratic leaders' latest — and likely final — proposal for a deficit reduction deal: $2.7 trillion in cuts, a debt ceiling hike through the end of 2012 and no revenues.

The proposal "meets Republicans' two major criteria," Reid said in a statement. It includes enough spending cuts to meet or exceed the amount of a debt ceiling raise through the end of 2012, and it doesn't includes any of the new revenues Democrats have been pushing for.

"We hope Speaker Boehner will abandon his 'my way or the highway' approach, and join us in forging a bipartisan compromise along these lines," Reid said.

Well no new tax cuts for the rich and letting the bush tax cuts expire must be seen as a victory, coupled with a reduction in spending .

Dems can claim victory, Obama looked like he fought for the poor and middle class and got what he wanted.

Debt ceiling raised and Bush tax cut eliminated.

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

They are not getting anything with the Bush tax cuts in this deal as I understand it. They get nothing except they won't have to deal with the debt limit again before the 2012 elections.

But it look like the Republicans won't even give them that, they want antoher round next year going into the elections.
