Sergeant found guilty of stealing guns & ammo from police armoury

Former Police Sergeant, Russell Robinson, who is accused of stealing a large quantity of guns and ammunition from the police armoury has been found guilty.
Robinson, who is to be sentenced next Tuesday, July 26, was found guilty of 18 counts of illegal possession of firearms and one count of illegal possession of ammunition.
Fourteen witnesses testified at his trial.
Robinson was placed on trial in December last year following allegations that he stole 18 guns and ten thousand rounds of ammunition from the police armoury at Elletson Road, in Kingston.
The former policeman was arrested on February 4, 2010, after the police raided a house on Munster Road in the East Kingston Police Division.
The cops say the stolen guns and ammunition were being sold to criminals in the underworld.
Robinson had strongly denied the allegations, and claimed there was a conspiracy by senior members of the Force to get him.

The way the judge was talking long to complete his summation, I was wondering if he would forget to hand down a verdict.
