The Jamaica Railway Corporation, JRC, has raked in close to two million dollars in revenue since it commenced its interim passenger rail service between Linstead and Spanish Town, in St. Catherine two weeks ago.
Transport and Works Minister Mike Henry says the figure is in keeping with expectation.
“ The revenue I understand is not very difficult to work in the combination but I believe they are close to heading to over two million turnover in the period…..we are looking at the economics of this line as it relates to the overall cost” said the Minister of Transport.
An estimated 17-thousand persons have so far utilised the railway service since its phased resumption on July 4
