The Government has developed new initiatives as part of its efforts to strengthen crime fighting.
Minister with responsibility for Information, Daryl Vaz, yesterday disclosed that the Cabinet has given the green light to a National Crime Prevention and Community Safety Strategy.
According to Vaz, the strategy will serve as the broad framework for crime prevention.
He further said a Community Renewal Programme is also to be implemented which will guide the delivery of service to vulnerable and volatile neighbourhoods.
The information minister said a Ministry Paper on the new crime prevent strategy is to be tabled in Parliament soon.
