Police inspector caught with ganja

The police are to seek a ruling from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on whether a fellow policeman who was caught with 150 pounds of compressed ganja yesterday is be charged for breaching the Dangerous Drugs Act.
Director of Communications for the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), Karl Angell said in a release issued early this morning, that a police inspector was caught by members of the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) with three carton boxes and a knapsack filled with compressed ganja wrapped in masking tape in the drunk of the vehicle that he was driving.
According to Mr. Angell, the inspector who has over 12 years of service in the JCF, was intercepted by the ACB team while driving towards Kingston on the Mandela Highway.
The policeman, who is attached to a division in the Corporate Area, remains in custody while a case file is being prepared for submission to the DPP for a ruling.
