OK, the JAAA seh dem did Trials with their mobile plug and play TV/Satellite sytem.

Let us be VEEEERRRRYYY generous and say all their costs amounted to USD $20m.

160m subscribers would have to pay at least $6 per subscription (daily rate), though some of that would have been package subscribers for $15 for the 4 days. Each household counted would then have paid between $6 and $15 per event, ie if the same household only watched and paid for 2 days, they would be counted twice and paid $12 in total.

Tekking out the trusty calculator, and assuming the lowest amount of revenue collected, we get USD $960M, so lets round that up to US $1B.

Take away total costs of $20m as agreed before and we have a "profit" of $980m before tax. Now, dis is not Jamaican funny money, dis is greenbacks! This leaves a cool USD $558m after taxes (33% corp rate and 16.5% GCT).

If this is so, why dem have di begging bowl stretched out????

A lot of money regardless of calculation and arrangement...but how is it you have them making so much?

I would bet that out of that say USD6 or thereabout the end user pays...JAAA would not receive more than somewhere around 1 USD?

...the providers of delivery of service(s) aways find a way to 'nickle and dine' you to death. It is usually over time that such as the JAAA would be able to demand more and more.
