US revokes diplomatic visa of Guyana's deputy police chief
Deputy Police Commissioner Henry Greene
The United States has revoked the diplomatic visa of Guyana's deputy police chief, the latest in a string of such moves against top officials in Guyana.
Deputy Police Commissioner Henry Greene said on Monday that he received a letter from the United States Embassy, last week, informing him that his diplomatic visa had been cancelled.
No reason was given for revoking the visa, which Greene received in 2002, to attend two security courses in Washington.
Mr. Greene, who heads Guyana's Criminal Investigations Unit, said he had done nothing to warrant the move and would seek an explanation from United States officials.
