New shadow cabinet, PNP makes changes
2011-05-24 12:44:49 | (7 Comments)
The People’s National Party is acutely aware of the difficult challenges the Jamaican people are currently facing.
We note that much of these challenges have been compounded by the mishandling and mismanagement of the country’s affairs by the incumbent Administration.
Through the Progressive Agenda, we have been actively engaged in a process of policy review and policy development; designed to quickly and adequately respond to the new global economic realities and to take the country on a path of genuine inclusive growth and development.
As Party President and as Leader of the Opposition, I have determined the set of portfolio assignments best suited to respond to the emerging global challenges while stimulating growth and development in a measurable way. The persons assigned to each portfolio reflect a blend of youth and experience.
Leader of the Opposition Portia Simpson Miller - Development, Information, Gender Affairs and Sports among other areas*
Dr. Peter Phillips - Finance, Planning and the Public Service
Dr. Omar Davies - Transport and Works
Peter Bunting - National Security
A.J. Nicholson Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade
