I wonder if that was Miss Bilding (sp?) ... I went to Providence Primary when it was located on the premises of the Methodist Church at Matilda's Corner... Miss B wielded a mean strap... almost barbaric by nowadays standards, but when it was you one and over 40 pickney in a class, it was... "wield strap now ask questions later"... and too bad if you got caught in the line of fire...
However, incidents like this are a good reason to re-evaluate the use of corporal punishment... is this still allowed legally? I mean if the teacher was doing it it 2009 it must have been allowed... unless she was breaking the law...
I'm glad things have improved for the young man, but some things cannot be quite undone...Peter R
