  • Jamaica's vs Barbados GDP per capita education spend

Barbados ranges from a low of 5.17% of GDP spent on education to 7.84%--- and from 14%- 21% of the government spend is on education

Jamaica GDP spend on education ranges from a mere 3.45% to a high of 6.82% and from a low of 8.7% to a high of 20.2% of total GOJ spending dedicated to education

Between 1971 and 1975 the GOJ spending on education as a % of GDP doubled.... and it has been downhill since

    Pathetic

          Guess??

I have no basis for a guess other than the economic contraction since 2007.... although the vast debt & tax increases could conceivably provide some resources

The data shows several dips in spending over time..what are you referring to?

The most dramatic increase was in the early 1970s and the most significant decrease was in the 1980s and 1990s when debt started to be an issue

Since I've provided data...not too interested in unsubstantiated tribal opinions

What was the cost of this significant increase in the 1970's ?

                  Good post, boss.

I wonder if this type investment is appreciated by the anti-PNP factor? Do they see the connection to their own and their families upward mobility...or the potential it gives for upwards mobility?
