An angry mob last night inflicted several wounds on a man who was allegedly caught attempting to steal a laptop computer from a dormitory at the University of Technology in St Andrew.
Our news centre was told that around 9 p.m. last night, a resident of Farquharson Hall returned to his room and found an intruder inside.
The intruder then ran from the room.
An alarm was raised and it is understood that the approximately 150 residents of the hall, all male, went in search of him.
The robber was caught hiding at the back of the student activity centre and set upon and beaten.
He was rescued by university security personnel who then handed him over to the police.
