  • Ugly row forces adjournment in Parliament

TODAY'S sitting of Parliament's Standing Finance Committee was abruptly adjourned moments ago after a row between Members of Parliament over expenditure and revenue intake of the Road Maintenance Fund (RMF) turned personal.
The exchange started out between transport minister Mike Henry and Opposition finance spokesman Omar Davies.

Davies charged that the government had been attempting to conceal the true state of affairs with the RMF by only making reference to some $750 million in expenditure when the committee was being asked to vote on some $8 billion, the bulk of which was not reflected, nor were the areas for expenditure outlined clearly.
He further noted that the Government was attempting to sidestep the findings of the Auditor General as it related to the RMF which he charged showed 'an effort to conceal'.
The exchange turned ugly when labour minister Pearnel Charles accused Davies of "mashing up Jamaica" during his tenure as finance minister to which Davies responded in an equally angry fashion.
When it became clear that neither MP was going to back down committee chair, House Speaker Delroy Chuck, who had warned that he would adjourn the sitting, stood and left the Chamber.

do you know the real reason crime was down during the 80s, let me tell u

you see after the 1980 election they were police death squads out to kill pnp gun men AND IT WAS THE TIME of the boomin cocaine trade

so what happened was that because of the ease of getting false documents like black books n visas, alot of these surviving warriors from both sides of the political fence fled overseas some for safety BUT mostly for makin money via drug trade

what i am saying is that the most dangerous of the dangerous criminals were either killed or incarcerated in sum foreign country during this period ie d 80s

that coupled with the record number of extra-judicial killings help to keep the murder rate lower than it could av bn if these murders were stuck in jamiaca

cuz if u notice the murder rate started to increase as these prisoners who were imprisoned during the 80s became free n were deported and also alot of them who moved overseas as a baby were deported

so if u analyse it the pnp was just bad lucked to be in power when the flood in deportees started just as the jlp with this dudus extradition matter

what I am gettin at is that becuz of the ease of getting false documents in that time, most if not all of the HARD core murderers were overseas hustling n murdering people n that eazed up on the crime rate a bit, ALSO as the years went by more ingenious ways for smuggling guns n bullets into the country were discovered, hence increasing the stock pile of weapons at the disposal of criminals when compared to the 80s

weh mi a seh the drug trade, fake documents higher extra-judicial police killings n a few other tings cuz d ARTIFICIAL LOW CRIME RATE yes it happened but it was just chance no brilliant governmental policies etc...#
cuz during that period intuitively u can deduce that the foundation for the surge in d crime rate was laid, if u look at it from a balance view point

btw-download n watch this vid its very interesting documentary u can get an insight in to this whole thing ------> http://megaupload.com/?d=CRDCCEIE
