Jamaican travelers could soon start to use budget airline RedJet to get around the Caribbean.
The airline which promises fares as low as US$10 says it will start selling tickets as of May 8 to fly between Barbados, Trinidad, Guyana and Jamaica.
Prices to fly on the airline have been capped at US$50.
The airline which had originally sought to register in Jamaica but was refused the opportunity because of the impact it may have had on Air Jamaica, at a time the government was seeking to divest the entity, says it will start offering tickets for sale as of Wednesday, April 14.
Flying on the airline is expected to help boost inter-regional travel, which has fallen short of expectations under the CARICOM treaty.
