SEVERAL hours after Prime Minister Bruce Golding was informed by the United States ambassador about a pending extradition request for Tivoli Gardens strongman Christopher 'Dudus' Coke, recordings were made of Coke discussing the matter with one of his alleged criminal conspirators.
Golding testified at the Dudus/Manatt commission of enquiry today that on the afternoon of October 29, 2009 he was informed by the US ambassador that a extradition request would be coming for Coke.
By 7:00 that evening a telephone call was intercepted in which Coke was being informed that an extradition request was on its way for him (Coke). The caller also raised concerns that an extradition request was on its way for him too.
The information forms part of an affidavit of a co-operating witness in the drug and gun-running case against Coke.
Attorney for People's National Party (PNP) member of parliament Peter Phillips, Patrick Atkinson, questioned Golding about the information.
However, the prime minister could not comment on the matter.
Atkinson asked Golding if it was a coincidence that Coke was having this conversation about the pending request on the same day he had been informed by the United States ambassador, but the question led to several objections from Hugh Small, the prime minister's attorney.
