A brawl almost erupted between rival political party supporters during a break in the Dudus/Manatt Commission of Enquiry in which security minister Dwight Nelson approached a People's National Party (PNP) councillor in a menacing way asking, "You want a piece of me?"

"There were things being said and then they started directing them at me," Nelson told the Observer a short while ago, as he explained why he said to the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) supporters "I will take on anyone in here!"

After making that comment and waving his hand in an agitated fashion, Nelson then approached Eugene Kelly, PNP councillor for the Whitfield Division in South West St Andrew.
Kelly asked Nelson if he wanted to draw a gun on him and Nelson lifted up his jacket and said he does not carry a firearm.
Heavily armed police then spoke to Nelson. The police earlier had to calm supporters who have continued to trade insults throughout the day.
The uproar was sparked before the break, when PNP attorney KD Knight and witness, justice minister Dorothy Lightbourne were summoned to meet with commissioner of the enquiry Emile George.
Lightbourne had said that Knight once commented that "All Labourites fi dead". Knight denied the comment and demanded an apology from her.
However Lightbourne has refused to withdraw the comment, saying that Knight had in fact said so in 1980. She said she was at his chambers having lunch when he walked by and kicked the chair on which she was sitting.
She said that was the reason she had not dealt with Knight in any friendly way since. She, however, apologised to the commission for raising the matter during the enquiry.

The enquiry has now adjourned until tomorrow morning.

Complete disgrace. Just a continuation of the behaviour that has been seen in parliament this year.

Maybe Dudus know when him can frighten people. For all we know, him a drop soap in New York.
