Police say Timothy James Chapek was taking a shower when the homeowner returned.

    STORY HIGHLIGHTS
    • A man breaks into a house, then locks himself in the bathroom when the owner returns, police say
    • The intruder makes an emergency call
    • The owner also calls the police
    • The suspect is arrested without incident

(CNN) -- This time it was the intruder who called 911.
A man who broke into a house in Portland, Oregon, called police -- afraid the homeowner may have a gun.
The suspect, Timothy James Chapek, was in the bathroom taking a shower when the homeowner returned to the house Monday night, Portland police said in a statement.
Accompanied by two German shepherds, the homeowner asked Chapek what he was doing in the house.
Chapek locked himself in the bathroom and made an emergency call, police said. He said he had broken into the house, the owner had come home, and that he was concerned the owner might have a gun.
The homeowner also called the police to report that he had found a man in the house.
Police with dogs took Chapek, 24, into custody "without incident," they said. He was booked for criminal trespass.
They did not say if the homeowner did in fact have a gun

Jamaicans are too shallow minded fi support people defending themselves in the country. PNP & JLP politicians ensure dem gunmen friends in the Renkers, Southside, One Order, Common Gang, Precint 13, Bi Bow & Colour Red gang etc have guns fi kill black people.

Ok, but police tek way an old 38 from a friend of the family recently. At 65 dem claim sey him too old fi have a licensed gun. If he did not have a licensed gun in the 70s, he would be in Dovecot. He killed two thugs who tried to rob his place of business. More Jamaicans would be alive if they had the means fi defend themselves...

True, the politicians may not be giving out guns, but politics insulates them from the reaches of the security forces for the most part.

                  According to Dr. Barry Chevannes
These constituencies are made up preponderantly of these "garrison communities" where organised political gangs with high powered M-16 and A.K.47 assault rifles and sub-machine guns control clearly defined political boundaries and territories where political protection insulates them from the reach of the security forces."

ok, coo, I heard that the last FLA board resigned in mass because Minister Nelson said that they were issuing too many gun licenses. A wonder if there is a limit on illegal gun ownership by gunmen?

Try tell that to Karl Horti. He seems to th ink that homeowners should not be allowed to have guns and if you are attacked at home by armed thugs, you either run or defend yourself with a 4 foot length of 2 x 4. I have never heard anything so crazy in all my life.
