A good lawyer still so I won't be surprised if he finds a way to use it.

Dorothy Lightbourne clears phone call issue

Justice Minister Dorothy Lightbourne this morning sought to clarify the time she received a call from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to enquire about the status of the Christopher 'Dudus' Coke extradition request at the Manatt-Dudus commission of enquiry.

At least three witnesses have told the commission that the call was placed to Lightbourne’s office around 4 pm on August 26.

But in her statement and in her testimony last week Lightbourne said she received the call about 10 o’clock in the morning.

However, this morning Lightbourne cited independent phone records which she said she felt compelled to report.

However, she did not change her statement that she spoke with the legal officer of the Jamaica Defence Force, Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Cole.

Colonel Patrick Cole has stated that he did not speak with Lightbourne when the call was placed to her office from the DPP’s office on August 26.

... the time is much closer to Col Cole's recollection...Dottie besotted ar is one liad...ar both

But why would a "mobile' provider have records of office phones? Dem nuh use land line inna govt office?

Telephone records contradict AG’s & army man’s testimony

Attorney General and Minister of Justice Senator Dorothy Lightbourne, resumed her testimony at the Manatt/Dudus Commission of Enquiry Monday morning.

She moved to clarify the issue of the time of an August 24, 2009, telephone call which originated from the office of Lisa Palmer Hamilton, the Acting Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

In her statement, Ms. Lightbourne said that on August 24, 2009, she spoke to Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Cole, Head of the Jamaica Defence Force Legal Unit, who was seeking information surrounding the extradition request for Christopher 'Dudus' Coke.

Ms. Lightbourne said the telephone conversation occurred about 10 o’clock in the morning.

However, Colonel Cole previously testified that on the day in question, he was at Ms. Palmer-Hamilton’s office about 4:00 p.m. but he never spoke with the Attorney General.

Ms. Lightbourne told the Commission Monday morning that she made some checks through the mobile provider which have confirmed that there was a call from the Office of the DPP’s general phone line to her office phone line about 2.04 p.m. on August 24, 2009.

This information contradicts the account of Colonel Cole and that of Ms. Lightbourne surrounding the time of the purported telephone conversation
