    Golding may miss Manatt enquiry

    PRIME Minister Bruce Golding may not be able to testify at the Manatt/Dudus Commission of Enquiry, his attorney says. Golding has international obligations during this month, as well as obligations with the budget to sort out, attorney Hugh Small, QC, told the commission this morning.
    "These are matters that would require the prime minister's full attention," Small said.
    The commission should come to an end by March 14.
    Commission chairman Emil George, QC, offered to take the prime minister's evidence early, but Small objected to the suggestion saying that the prime minister should not testify before Justice Minister Dorothy Lightbourne.
    Prime Minister Bruce Golding is the last person scheduled to give evidence at the enquiry, which started on January 17.

    Why does it matter who goes first? If they all intend to tell the truth, it does not matter one bit.

    Gelding is really scraping the bottom of the gutter now. What a loathsome scumbag!

      Cut out everbody else, let have Lightbourne for 2 days and Gelding next!
      The same type of thinking that created a problem cannot be used to solve the problem.

        Not much of a surprise. This thing has gone over schedule, which provides Bruce with a convenient excuse. Granted I think he should be tending to real work instead of this circus, but I dont doubt him looking forward to ducking it.

        I am still not understanding what the purpose of this commission is. The story is pretty much the same as the story before the commission, with a bunch of people contradicting each other and the overseas party not providing much information. If no one is going to get charged, is this simply a waste of taxpayers money? and another way for Jamaica's lawyers to keep their wallets healthy?

          The Commission is not perfect...it cannot charge anyone and Gelding stacked it with at least 2 JLP loyalists so the conclusions will no doubt protect him and his regime as much as possible..

          However it is very healthy and a good exercise in democracy when leaders in society are subject to public examination over their deeds and misdeeds

            ... last I checked he was one of the first to submit his written testimony. But when ppl like KD, Atkinson and Phipps a question fi 2 days ... what unuh expect? Now mi a hear KD want Manatt to testify? Come on ....

              Convenient, but not good! He can't be wasting everyone's time and then just walk away.

                Did the Small say he may not attend? All the man asked is that dem speed up the ting suh the star performer can tek center stage. KD ask 73 questions then Patrick Atkinson come and ask 70 of the same questions again? There is another one whey name Green whey repeat every question 5 times if him nuh get the answer him want.

                Lloyd Barnett naah seek nuh spotlight ... dem man dem ketch a pusnap and only butt in when there is a question he sees as objectionable. Dem man deh nuh need 10 questions fi mek dem point.

                      well the commission is to suposed to write a report setting out its findings ... that should account for something unless it come back "inconclusive"
