  • The Protests In Wisconsin Get Bigger....

    http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepo...116982223.html

Some very compelling pictures. The protesters agreed to a day off Sunday so the Capitol and grounds can be cleaned.

This is a major fight. Whichever side wins in Wisconsin will have the big advantage in the other states.

The day of reckoning is near. Either the federal and state govts will have to cut spending drastically or they will have to raise taxes drastically. Indeed they may have to do both.

and what of the federal government? Same thing with them too.
The problem is not the negotiation itself. The workers are willing to take cut but not to give up their bargining rights.

I stand with them. This is also political as unions gives big to Democrats.

        Song To Support Wisconsin Protesters

Dropkick Murphys - "Take Em Down"
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2Ng153ORDo

Dropkick Murphys, the Irish-American rock band from Boston, has written a song to stand with the protesters in Madison called "Take "Em Down", which will be on a new CD titled "Going Out In Style" to be released this Tuesday.

The Dropkick Murphys performed Friday Night in Milwaukee after the Milwaukee Admirals game which drew a crowd of over 12,000. I never heard the group before, but they gave a high-energy performance that lasted about an hour and 15 minutes.

The unions have agreed to pay more for their health & pension benefits, but the Governor is hell bent on stripping away their collective bargaining rights. It is a political ploy to take down one of the Democrat's biggest supporters.

I do not have a strong opinion either way. The union should have a right to bargain but some restrictions on the extent of that in the public sector are not unreasonable.

In the end public opinion will determine the outcome.Either the public will demand that the governor back off and make a compromise, or that the Democrats come back and face up to the fact that they don't have the votes to prevent it.

you know in some states the only reason police has bullet proof vest is because of unions?

I think it is wrong to take away the bargining power. Yes the other consessions should be reached in times like now.

Unions have played a significant role for workers rights all over the world in the last 100 years. No doubt about that.

This Wis governor seems to be more about making a political statement than anything to do with the budget shotfall.

Its up to the public to decide what they want, after all they voted him in.

I heard this was not a major thing in his platform.

they are having a hard time of it trying to make the mid-term election results work for them ..... if they are not careful they will be caught with the pants at the ankles.... IT START
