  • A theory on why Buju might have hugged his lawyer

In Florida, if a gun is present or deemed to be part of a crime there is a mandatory minumum sentence of ten years.

Buju could possibly get less than ten years for the three guilty counts combined. However, that gun charge could have doubled or tripled whatever sentence he is going to get.

So, he might have been conditioned that he was likely to be found guilty of something. He was probably further conditioned that al long as it wasnt the gun charge he would not be away for too long.

    Just my opinion.

My prediction is that he will do no more than 16 to 18 months, in addition to the 12 he has already served. After all, by all accounts, the man is not a career criminal, and I hope the judge will find it in his heart to show him some compassion. On the other hand I hope that the vermin in New York, if found guilty, would be made to rot in prison and never see the light of day. After all, isn't that the way cowards, and gutter-rats ought to be treated. I just hope he gets a fair trial, and I don't see any reason why he shouldn't.

Sadly, Al the gutter keeper will walk free. Only because we have the greatest system of justice in the world, and the US has the worst.

So is he looking at 15 years, mandatory? Some of these drug and gun charges have no room for leniency.
