    JLP condemns PNP

The governing Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) has condemned what it says is the irresponsible actions of the Opposition People’s National Party (PNP), at the Manatt/Dudus Commission of Enquiry.

The JLP has accused the PNP of seeking to sidetrack and derail the Enquiry.

In noting the general approach of the PNP and its representatives to the Enquiry, Chairman Mike Henry outlined the JLP’s concerns at a number of its Area Council and constituency meetings over the weekend.

He told party supporters that the Opposition’s approach to the Enquiry has been characterised by a wild and barefaced attempt to railroad the exercise in the interest of the party’s self-serving interest.

According to Mr. Henry, since the Enquiry started, it has become quite clear that the PNP has no intention of allowing due process, devoid of political interference.

The JLP Chairman added that despite the best intention of the Prime Minister to establish the Enquiry to address concerns raised by the Opposition and other interest groups, it appears that the PNP wants more than fair play.
