15 years ago every dancehall artist was being dropped from their major labels due to gay backlash and poor sales...what's your point again?

10 to 15 years ago we had Beenie Man on a major label...that's it...nobody else...check your facts again please...you are referring to 20 years ago when Shabba opened the floodgates for getting signed to majors...unfortunately all except the Ranks were dropped after one album due to poor sales...touche...

p.s. stop trying to spin the argument...no other genre WITHOUT MAJOR BACKING is getting mainstream radio spins...relative enough for you?

Same arguments they came with when Jammy drop the "Slim thing riddim", Same argument they came with Admiral Bailey dropped "Punany", same argument they used on Briggy, Josey, and Yellow. Reggae is always at a crossroad and it always win with the naysayers saying the same thing. Them tell us how it a lose its appeal when nothing go like that.

No different from today. Most of them never had a long term contract. It is no different from today. You can't count? 15 years and you all a mention 2003.

By the way ias Beres told me International label would just eat in his money unless it is a major deal as performances and royalities would result in less money. Red Fox also told me that the difference for him was to get the money upfront but you had to work it off. It may help some upcoming artist,"may" but people like Richie Stevens will tell you it helped park their careers.
