"Based on newly released data on the 2010 CSEC and CAPE results from the Caribbean Examinations Council, Campion now has more students placed in the listing of top ten performers in each subject than any other school not only in Jamaica, but also the Caribbean! That's right...check us out:

2 St Joseph's Convent (Trinidad) - 18
3 Naparima Girls' High (Trinidad) - 16

CAPE (total of 460)
1 Campion College - 48
2 St Augustine High (Trinidad) - 31
3 St Joseph's Convent (Trinidad) - 22

Also in 2010, five out of seven Jamaica Scholarships were awarded to Campionites and two Rhodes Scholarships (Jamaica and Caribbean) for a total
of 15 in 50 years - the most of any Jamaican high school in this time period.

those schools able to CONVERT average/mediocre student intake to higher levels are the key to progress higher COUNTRY performance... that's the BIG puzzle that must be solved...

Congrats to them. I have seen some young Jamaican professionals from that school doing big things around the world in the last couple of years. Hopefully they will maintain the standard that they have set.

mi bias is true but the fact is something good is going on there to attract and then churn out .....

jamaica can only benefit if that can be replicated at all the high schools

Congratulations to Campion, however the results would have been much more significant if your school took poor kids from the innercity, and not primarily youths from middle-class & upper incomes.

in that case the same could be said for St Joeseph convent in Trinidad who they beat. it is what it is....

Congrats to them and hopefully some of the other high schools can do the same because i am sure there are enough smart prep and primary school children each year that we should be able have at least a couple other campions based just on intake.

Campion is a Govt school, it has been for 33 years.. same rules that apply to every oddah Govt school..
