Confirmed: 80-yr-old Man dies a second time in Manchester (Star)

by On the Ground News Reports. on Monday, January 10, 2011 at 10:09pm

The 80-year-old man who was thought to be dead before he suddenly awoke from his slumber, startling police officers and funeral parlour workers has since died, THE STAR understands.

Percival Robinson from Craighead, Manchester, died while being held for observation at the hospital, the Christiana police confirmed late last week.
Last week, THE STAR reported that the man was declared dead by police and was being taken to hospital to be pronounced dead by a doctor when he awoke.
On Friday when the hospital was contacted, workers said that only the hospital's chief executive officer could speak to the press about the matter. Contact was made with the CEO who promised THE STAR that she would make an enquiry and provide feedback as she was not familiar with the case. However, none was provided.

    examined the body
Residents who knew the elderly man said he died only days after he was admitted for observation.
THE STAR had reported that residents found the elderly man, who lives by himself, motionless and appearing lifeless. Police examined the body before summoning a funeral home to pick up the 'corpse'.
Police and the parlour workers were travelling in the same vehicle with the body taking it to the hospital when they heard sounds coming from the rear of the vehicle where the 'dead man' was.
They had the shock of their lives when they looked around and saw the man who was wrapped in white sheet sitting up.
They speedily abandoned their vehicle and fled to a nearby shop where they revealed what had happened to those present. A group of people went to the vehicle where they spoke to the man.
The same type of thinking that created a problem cannot be used to solve the problem.

Perhaps he was in a diabetic coma, when he was being transported.
